Backups #
The backup server itself is happy’s old computer which now performs as a home server.
Frequency #
The server gets backed up to our backup server once every two hours. This is above the standard frequency for most servers, specially SMP servers, given the amount of data processed on each backup.

Redundancy #
The backup server uses multiple 6TB disk drives on a RAID configuration to keep all data safe. The server also features redundant network conectivity and power supply, ensuring backups are uninterrupted.
Protocol #
The backup is performed using rsync.
Rollback Capacity #
The backup uses ZFS with snapshot captabilities. The server entire state is preserved with daily snapshots that can be rolled back to multiple weeks before the last backup was taken.
Location #
The server is located on a very safe but very memeable location, happy’s attic.
